Santa Don has over twelve years of experience and graduates from both the Charles W. Howard Santa School and the School of Santas. He attends annual training to refine his craft. For peace of mind, he carries performers’ insurance and provides background checks upon request.
School of Santas – Branson, MO. The annual four-day Santa training in Branson, Missouri, offers practical instruction and peer networking for professional Santas, Mrs. Clauses, and holiday performers. The program covers core performance techniques, hands on craft skills, and learning best practices for wardrobe care and beard maintenance.
Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School is the world’s oldest and longest-running training program for professional portrayers of Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. Often called the “Harvard of Santa schools,” it was established in 1937 by legendary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Santa Charles W. Howard.
Santa America Training Program is a specialized, multi-day course that equips performers to provide compassionate crisis support for children and families facing autism, trauma, PTSD, and grief. Guided by insights from family therapists and medical experts, the curriculum focuses on sensory-sensitive techniques, such as sitting on the floor and allowing children to approach at their own pace. Participants also learn key wardrobe adjustments, including removing jingle bells and heavy embellishments to prevent overstimulation during visits.
